NeonSky has no accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking. We collect the minimum needed to show you weather and warn you about rain, none of it is linked to your identity, and none of it is ever sold or shared for marketing.
With your permission, NeonSky uses your device's location to:
Location is never used for advertising or profiling, and there is no location history — only the most recent position is retained for alert monitoring.
If your iPhone has a barometer, NeonSky contributes pressure readings (pressure, coordinates, GPS altitude, timestamp) to a community network that improves short-term storm detection for everyone nearby. These readings are tagged only with a random identifier generated on your device — not your name, Apple ID, email, or any advertising identifier — and cannot be tied back to you. Readings more than a few hours old no longer influence forecasts.
If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token (an anonymous identifier issued by Apple) with your most recent coordinates to deliver rain alerts. Tokens stop being used after 48 hours without the app checking in, and are deleted when Apple reports them invalid.
Forecast requests are fulfilled using Apple WeatherKit, Open-Meteo, and RainViewer radar data. Requests to these services include coordinates but no identity. Their handling of requests is governed by their own policies.
NeonSky is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
